About the Cape Fear Council
At the Cape Fear Council, Scouting America, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to grow into a confident, capable, and compassionate leader. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to foster character development, citizenship, and physical fitness while helping youth make ethical choices that will guide them throughout their lives.
Rooted in the timeless values of the Scout Oath and Law, Scouting prepares young people to meet life’s challenges with integrity and courage. Through hands-on learning, outdoor adventure, and service to others, Scouts discover their potential and build the skills that shape strong communities.
Our Mission
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The Scout Oath
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
The Scout Law
A Scout is:
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
