Eagle Scout Rank Requirements
Eagle Scout is the highest achievement in Scouting. To earn the rank, a Scout must advance through Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle, and complete the following:
Key Requirements
Be active as a Life Scout for at least six months.
Demonstrate Scout Spirit by living the Scout Oath and Scout Law in daily life and provide references on the Eagle application.
Earn 21 merit badges, including the required 13:
First Aid; Citizenship in the Community, Nation, and World; Communication; Cooking; Personal Fitness; Emergency Preparedness OR Lifesaving; Environmental Science OR Sustainability; Personal Management; Swimming OR Hiking OR Cycling; Camping; and Family Life.
Hold a leadership position for six months as a Life Scout in your troop, crew, ship, or as a Lone Scout.
Plan and lead an approved Eagle Scout Service Project benefiting a community organization (not the BSA).
Complete a Scoutmaster conference.
Prepare your Eagle application, including your statement of ambitions and life purpose and your leadership history.
Successfully complete an Eagle Board of Review.
